a) Emotional Healing: Rapid Freedom from Evil Spirits Feeding off Emotional Pain
b) Unbound: Expelling the Influence of Demons
Some emotional pain and some physical pain is the result of the operation of evil spirits i.e. demons, that use emotional wounds and physical injuries (e.g. from emotional trauma or from a physical injury), to attach themselves to people. Sometimes evil spirits bother people by mimicking a physical pain despite there not being any underlying physical injury they can work with. In these cases, invoking the authority Jesus gave his followers and commanding (repeatedly if necessary) the offending spirit to leave ends the pain.
Getting rid of sin (e.g. unforgiveness and held-on-to anger) that arose in response to emotional injury/wounding results in greatly loosening the evil spirits' foothold, which paves the way for healing of emotional pain (and physical pain).
Commanding an evil spirit of Pain, Infirmity, Arthritis, Cancer, Migraines, etc. to leave must often be done before successfully commanding that a physical injury be healed. Breaking of curses done by one’s self and other people might be necessary before physical healing occurs.
Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted and deliver the oppressed -Luke 4:18-21 Based on Praying Medic, 2015, _Emotional Healing in 3 Easy Steps_:
1. Recall an event that is troubling you, and identify the strongest negative emotion you're able to feel.
2. Is the emotion sinful? If so, confess to God that your sinful response (e.g. held-onto anger and unforgiveness) to the emotional trauma was a sin.
3. In the name of Jesus, I forgive ________________ for ____________________ (be specific), and ask Jesus to bless __________________.
4. Say that you believe the sacrificial death of Jesus has taken away the penalty and some consequences of your sin.
5. Ask Jesus to take away your feeling of _________ (e.g. anger, or unforgiveness). (If the emotion is there because you believed a lie about that situation, ask Jesus to show you the truth about it.)
6. If you wish, ask Jesus to give you _________ (e.g. peace or joy or love) in exchange for your emotion of _________.
7. Ask Jesus to heal the wound in your soul caused by the precipitating incident and sinful response, and receive that healing.
===put verses that can heal wounds in the soul: things God says about you.
Repeat the process with the strongest negative emotion felt when revisiting the event.
If there’s still unforgiveness:
Based on McNutt (2005), Lord Jesus, please help me imitate your attitude toward those that crucified you:
Luke 23:34
And Yeshua [Jesus] was saying,
"Abba [Father], forgive them
for they do not know what they are doing."
Jesus, I’m having difficulty with grudges resentments and unforgiveness toward _______ (who could very well have been influenced by evil spirits). Jesus, please fill me with your own understanding and your love for _______. Please pour out your forgiving love into my heart for _______.
If you’re having difficulty forgiving yourself:
Confess and repent of all sin, and ask God for forgiveness. Ask the human (if any) to whom you confessed your sin to pronounce you forgiven.
(It’s a bad idea to tell someone that didn’t ask you for forgiveness, “I forgive you,” because chances are it’ll come across as “You sinned against me, but I’m generous enough to forgive you.” Forgive others quietly in your heart, but if you’re asked for forgiveness, then verbally express your forgiveness.)
Then, try this approach to prayer, during which for example an aborted child can be asked for forgiveness:
Based on Francis McNutt, _The Prayer that Heals: Praying for Healing in the Family_ (2005), 127pp., 71-72:
Close your eyes, and imagine Jesus (or the Father) with the eyes of your spirit. Attempt to see Jesus very clearly (to see more clearly, it may help to describe out loud what you’re seeing). Speak to Jesus, and listen for a response, should he choose to speak. Or perhaps he’ll shake your hand or embrace you. After you’ve welcomed Jesus and are comfortable, imagine him standing by your side.
The door opens and the person with whom you need to be reconciled walks in. Try to see the person clearly with the eyes of your spirit: facial expression, the way the hair looks, the look in the eyes (to see more clearly, it may help to describe out loud what you’re seeing). Then, ask Jesus to help you, and go up to that person and say or do whatever Jesus (or the Father) inspires you to do.

Unbound: Expelling the Influence of Demons
Basham, Don. 1972. _Deliver us From Evil_ 211pp. On 105, 106:
A Test for an Evil Spirit
1. Treat your hang-up first as a simple carnal sin and see what happens. Confess it, ask forgiveness, believe that forgiveness has been granted. Now apply will, discipline, and prayer to the habit patterns that have entrenched themselves in this area. Whenever they reappear, put them “under the crucifixion” of Jesus, knowing that He is able when we are not.
2. If all of this produces no victory, you may be dealing with a demon—and you should seek deliverance. …. A person pushed around in some area of his life. Serious efforts made to change, to no avail.
Lozano, Neal. 2003. _Unbound: A Practical Guide to Deliverance_, 254pp. On 53:
Picture a locked door. Opening that door represents liberation from spiritual bondage. This door has five locks, each requiring a key. As a believer in Christ, you have all the keys you need to be free from the influence of evil spirits. If one key has not been used the bolt remains in place and the door will not move.
Lozano, Neal and Matthew Lozano. 2011. _Unbound Ministry Guidebook: Helping Others Find Freedom in Christ_, 233pp. On 133-4:
Let me share the story of one mother's success in praying with her child:
‘This morning I had a blessed moment of UNBOUND prayer with my four-year-old daughter who, with tears, brought up an old issue. I knew we had to pray. Though only four, she followed me in prayer with no problem because we had done it a few times before. After the command, I asked, "How do you feel?" "I feel good," she said. When I blessed her, I could literally see her teary eyes turn into eyes full of joy. I did not need to ask again, but I did. "How do you feel?" "I feel great!" She started running around and around, yelling, "Weehee, yeehah!" and giggling. After about ten minutes of this, I said, "You are happy, huh?!" "Yes, Mama. I am happy. I am very happy!" The change [in my daughter] was 360 degrees! I thank God for the gift He has given us through you!'
I followed up and found out this was the fourth time in a year this mother had helped her daughter using the Five Keys. One time she guided her four-year-old to forgive a bully for pushing her down at the park. She said, "It was as if the poison from a thorn was removed" from her daughter's spirit.
ONE MOTHER'S ADVICE
Keep the prayer short—around five minutes. I just pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show me where my daughter might be stuck, and then I ask her simple short questions: Are you sad? Do you want to get rid of that sadness? Are you feeling angry? How angry? With whom? Why? Are you happy when you are feeling angry? Of course she says "No, mama," so then I ask, "Do you want to get rid of that anger?" She nods, "Yes." I take her through repentance:
"Jesus, I am sorry I got angry..." "In the name of Jesus, I forgive... for..." Then I lead her to renounce the spirit of sadness, anger, and so on. I tell my daughter to close her eyes and stay quiet and she does-- she really does! I say the word of command and ask her how she feels. She always has had a great answer. We say thanks and then I bless her. It can be very quick, but always so very powerful."
This mother taught her daughter that to _renounce_ means to "kick out," and when she takes authority she says, "By the authority given to me as Isabelle's mother and as a Christian, I command any evil spirit to leave now in the name of Jesus."
On 173-5:
A few weeks later when I picked up my son from school, he burst into tears as soon as he entered the car. He'd had a difficult day with teachers as well as with peers. I could feel his shame and fear and sensed the prompting to ask him if he'd like to pray with the Five Keys of UNBOUND. Up until that moment, my son and I used to pray the usual formal prayers at bedtime, prayers of thanksgiving at meals, and an occasional spontaneous prayer of petition or thanks. So this was very different. I began the interview with the "Where are you stuck?" question, but he didn't understand at first until he finally said, "Oh, Mommy! You want to know what's bugging me." That became our new code word for future prayer sessions of UNBOUND. He began telling his story about his day. As an adult, I could hear the self-justification, hurt, and anger in his trembling voice. I prayed for wisdom to find a way to ask the right questions so he might see a need for repentance. I asked if he was sure he had done absolutely nothing to make the teacher feel disrespected. He shyly answered, "Well, maybe I did keep making noises although he'd told me to be quiet." As we went through the first key we substituted the words, "In the name of Jesus, I am sorry for __________" instead of the phrase "I repent." He repented for believing he knew more than the teacher did, for being impatient with his friend at lunch, and so on. Soon more words of repentance came stumbling forward. My son admitted kids have trouble seeing where they are wrong and this was very helpful for him.
Moving into forgiveness was easy and natural. He could readily recall kids in the class who were mad at each other and had not been able to forgive others. He didn't want to end up mad forever at his best friend. I saw him begin to yawn with relief as he walked through the forgiveness key. His face was becoming more relaxed.
As we went into the third key, I explained the word _renounce_ meant he was saying "In the name of Jesus, I _kick out_ the feeling of ______________." Led by the Holy Spirit, he renounced anger, sadness, fear, stress, shame, guilt, etc. He let out deep exhalations as he "kicked out" and exclaimed, "They are leaving, Mommy! I feel lighter and happier already!" There was no need to discuss spirits. He instinctively saw the negative words of guilt, shame, and fear as things that were now actually leaving him. Then in a very "Mom says so" tone of authority, I said the command, "In the name of Jesus, I, John's mother, take authority and command every spirit and lie John has just kicked out to leave him right now." We paused and John said, "Wait, Mommy. I remembered something else that's really bugging me." We went through the keys about this incident and after taking authority again he exclaimed, "Mommy, it's all gone. I felt lighter and happy. I'm calm now and relaxed... I'm not afraid anymore... it's gone." I then prayed the blessing. My son was overjoyed. He could actually recognize he was different thanks to what Jesus had done through the prayer. We found that over the next few weeks he would ask during night prayers, "Mom, can we do UNBOUND about this thing that happened today?" The Lord was revealing unintentional remarks and actions made by family and friends that had become lies of the enemy he'd come to believe. During these prayer sessions, I had the opportunity to learn how my own actions really affected him and to seek his forgiveness for things I'd said or done which had caused fear or shame. John began to recognize the signs of oppression and automatically took it to prayer. Within a month, my husband and I saw a tremendous change in our son. He was more carefree. He was less emotional. He was happier and doing better at school!
….
I believe UNBOUND can help an entire family learn to pray together, listen to each better, forgive each other more readily, and allow the Lord to deal with wounds before they settle into a layer of resentment that gives the enemy a stronghold in families over time.

My book _Unbound_ teaches how to listen and respond in Five Key areas as you seek greater freedom and help others to do the same. Each key incorporates practical direction on how to respond to the grace that unlocks the door and sets us free.
Key 1. Repentance and Faith
There is no greater deliverance than embracing the grace of baptism, by turning from sin and turning to the Lord. Jesus is our deliverer and He is our deliverance. The first key also involves ongoing repentance and conversion as the hidden sins of our heart are revealed.
Key 2. Forgiveness
If we want to be like Jesus we need to forgive from the heart. Many believers who know they need to forgive have failed to understand how to access the power of forgiveness that Jesus has given them. As forgiveness is pronounced by faith and the power behind unforgiveness is renounced, it is defeated.
Key 3. Renunciation
Each Easter, Catholics renew their baptismal vows beginning with, "I renounce Satan and all of his works and all of his empty promises." Renunciation is a declaration before the kingdom of darkness that I no longer make a home for sin, deception and the power behind it. I am no longer in agreement with this lie that has been buried in my heart and my thoughts. Specifically renouncing our enemies brings victory. For example, one might state,
"I renounce fear in the name of Jesus, I renounce a spirit of rejection in the name of Jesus, I renounce lust... loneliness... a spirit of anger... resentment and bitterness... hatred… I renounce the lie that everything is my fault... I renounce the idol of fame and recognition..."
Key 4. Authority
When the Lord said to Moses, "I will be an enemy to your enemies" (Exodus 23:22), He did not mean that Moses would sit and watch. He meant that as Moses fought, so would God. Moses had God's authority. In Christ, we too have authority over our enemies who seek to destroy us. We can take our stand against them through repentance, forgiveness, renunciation and then declare the truth of their defeat by saying, "In the name of Jesus I command any (or every) spirit that I have renounced to leave me now."
Key 5. The Father's Blessing
The Hebrew sense of blessing means to speak words that empower someone to prosper and thrive. They are words that give life and peace. Words carry spiritual power. Every blessing that the Father spoke to Jesus is ours. The Father reveals to us who we are as we come before him in the Son. What we have longed to hear all of our lives has already been spoken. As we learn to receive His blessing, so we are healed. To be unbound means that the obstacles to the gift that has been waiting for us have been removed and the Father's love and affirmation is made real to us in Christ.

A PRAYER TO PRAY
Come, Holy Spirit. Spirit of God, who created life, You are the Lord and giver of life. You burst forth from the Trinity as the very expression of God, the dynamic power of God, the lover of Jesus in human hearts, and I want to welcome You. Holy Spirit, forgive me for the ways I've treated You like a thing. Forgive me for the ways I've tried to follow Jesus on my own and neglected Your counsel, Your comfort, and Your wisdom. I repent of the ways I've neglected to keep in step with You. Rid me of darkness; rid me of the things that hold me back. Cleanse me so fear will have no place in a heart that is loved.
Reveal Jesus to me, I pray, in a deeper way. Enlarge my heart that I might receive more of God. I honor You because You are the best at glorifying Jesus. You are the best at bringing out praise and glory. You are the best at taking what is God's and revealing it to my heart. Have Your way with me. Clothe me with Your power. Holy Spirit, move in my heart today that I would be transformed that You would produce good fruit in me. Make me a radiant lover of Jesus, a heartfelt responder to the love of God, and a faithful and beloved child who moves boldly to You. To please You is my greatest desire.
Release Your gifts in me, Lord. Give me the grace to listen deeply to others and to speak to others in psalms and spiritual hymns, to bless, to encourage, and to use the gifts you give me to set the captives free. Holy Spirit, I ask for unbroken fellowship with You. Come and descend on me today. Amen.

Now the attacks will come from without, instead of from within, and hence are easier to defend against. God did his part, and now you must do yours to keep your freedom. You must train your thoughts and must fight:
Thank and praise God continually, which creates an atmosphere that repels demons.[Ps 34:1]
Protect and guard your thought life. Going forward, when the kingdom of darkness knocks at the door, let God answer. Our role model Jesus did this in the wilderness by countering the devil’s temptations with rebutting scriptures. When a negative suggestion or lie comes, counter with a corresponding scripture passage that says the truth [e.g. Rom 8:28 or Phil 4:13]. Do this often, so it becomes reflexive. Eventually the demons will get tired of hearing scripture, and attack far less frequently.
Break off relationships, at least for a time, with those people that tended to spur you on to sin. It’s good to avoid dangerous movies, shows, books, magazines, conversations, and environments.
Cultivate right, holiness-promoting, loving relationships with continual, on-the-spot forgiveness.
Do daily: prayer, praise and worship, and Bible reading and Bible study.
When there’s a severe abrasion to the skin, infecting bacteria are made welcome. Getting rid of the infecting bacteria is a good first step, but then the skin needs rebuilding.
Similarly, when there’s a severe wounding to the soul, e.g. through a tendency to harbor unforgiveness anger or lust, infecting demons are made welcome. Getting rid of the unforgiveness anger lust and infecting demons is a good first step, but then the soul needs rebuilding.
Demons got allowed in via weakness, and that weakness must be overcome. It’s easier to overcome the weakness with demons supplying far fewer sinful suggestions and lies. Overcoming one’s natural tendency to sin and to embrace lies must still be overcome. It’s good to fiercely resist sinful habits, while strenuously cultivating godly habits and incorporating scriptural truths into one’s thought life.
Christ has all authority, and Christ-followers are in Christ. As necessary, repent and forgive, and then command evil spirits bothering you to leave—- do a quick version of the Unbound protocol.
